Hearty Ham and Three-Bean Soup
Ingredients
- 1can (15 to 16 ounces) navy beans, rinsed and drained
- 1can (15 to 16 ounces) red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
- 1can (15 ounces) black beans, rinsed and drained
- 1can (14.5 ounces) no-salt-added stewed tomatoes, undrained
- 1 1/4cups fat-free chicken broth with 33% less sodium (from 14-ounce can)
- 1/2cup diced cooked extra-lean ham (3 ounces)
- 1medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
- 1clove garlic, finely chopped
- 1teaspoon chili powder
- 1/4teaspoon pepper
Steps
1 Mix all ingredients in 3- or 4-quart saucepan. Heat to boiling over medium heat.
2 Cook 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until onion is tender and soup is slightly thickened.
